WoW - Twink Guides Getting Neglected, RAF Owns
Posted on 2008 under Multi-Boxing | No Comment12 Aug
Well, I’ve kinda put the 39 twinks (and subsequently their respective guides) on hold for a little bit in favor of trying out the new Recruit-A-Friend promotion. If you’ve been paying attention, you’ll know that I’m a fan of multiboxing. I decided to up my game from 2 accounts to 3. I referred myself and figured I’d give it a try on the trial before upgrading. 20 minutes later I was level 8 without enough gold to buy my skills, and I decided to give boosting a try. The shamatwins made their way to Ragefire Chasm, and my rogue joined up with them there. Since I lack any AOE worth mentioning, I decided to just run them through the first bit with the troggs, then reset. When I hit the instance cap, I’d just take a break. Well, 25 minutes /played later and they were 14, so I ran them over to Shadowfang Keep. Ended up getting about a level and a half per 15 minute run, a level every 10 minutes is pretty decent. At this point I figured I’d go ahead and upgrade.
At level 20, I ran them up to SM, and this is where I really started to appreciate just how much faster boosting is with Recruit-A-Friend. I’m used to getting a level every 3 runs in the 20’s, and every 4-5 runs in the 30’s. RAF is netting me a level per run. I got them to 35 last night with a grand total of 12 hours /played and all shaman quests done. I’m sure there are plenty of people who have done it faster, but here’s the thing… I’ve got a short attention span. I’ll leave my toons sitting there while I go play with my rabbits, chat with my roommate, go for a walk with my girlfriend, etc. If I just locked into it, I’d probably be able to shave a few hours off. Kudos to Blizzard for giving new players and multiboxers alike an opportunity for much faster leveling, this is all kinds of awesome. I’m thinking I might have to roll up a couple of mages Alliance-side and try Zygor’s guide out with triple XP… I’m betting it’d be ridiculously quick.
