WoW - First Podcast, 4 Minute Primer on Auctioneering
Posted on 2008 under Blog, Making Gold, podcast |10 Mar
Hi everyone, as promised I have the first episode of the podcast ready to go for you today. It’s just a short one, you can look at it as an introduction to the basic principles behind auctioneering. We’ll get deeper into these theories and the specifics of how to apply them in further episodes, but for now just take them in and apply them to any trading you do in the mean time. As a disclaimer, I apologize for any hiccups in the audio, it was my first time recording anything other than guitar on my computer and it seems to stutter every now and again. Because I don’t want to completely kill my bandwidth here, I’m hosting the mp3 at Filefront.com. If anyone has any suggestions for alternate hosting sites, I’m definitely open to them. Without further ado, here is the podcast:

In other news, it looks like Warlocks might be getting a Blink-ish ability in WotLK, although Kalgan noted that it’s just one possible idea to give locks some defense without turning them into a PVP tank. I still like the idea of a self-banish better, but this sounds pretty cool too:
We definitely feel the need for warlocks to gain some sort of active defense so we don’t have to try to balance them around the assumption that they’re “tanking” melee classes. For example, an idea we’re running with internally is the concept of a warlock being able to cast a spell that places a circle of demonic power on the ground. The warlock would be able to teleport to this location from within a relatively short range (ie: 40 yards), and would also be able to summon demons more quickly if they’re standing within the circle.Note: this idea is intended as a sneak peek, it’s not something that we’re planning for 2.4, it would be more likely as an expansion ability, and may change entirely before said time.
A change like this would add a bit more mobility to Warlocks, perhaps allowing them to stay alive for more than 5 seconds in PVP without Soul Link. Also, I know I’m months behind on this, but it looks like the Flametongue MS was reverted for Shamans. I’m not entirely sure what the devs plan to give them in place of this, but Enhancement definitely needs a bit more before it’s really going to be considered arena viable. That said, I’m considering running a double melee team for one of my comps for the 3v3 tourney with an Enhancement Shaman, Warrior, and Druid, just for lulz. I might swap out the Shaman for a Retadin though, whichever one is more fun will get my vote. I’ll keep you guys updated with anything news-worthy, and the first full episode of the podcast will be available next Monday.
